Honestly, if I were to give you one advice for following your long cherished ( yet unfulfilled) dreams then it should be to read ‘The Alchemist’ at least once. The Alchemist is a world famous book of Brazilian author Paulo Coelho and is considered as one of the most influential book of wisdom in our times.
A few days ago I got a chance to read this book. It happened as a coincident. I had gone to Railway station to see off one of my relatives. As I said goodbye to him and turned back for home, I came across a bookstall where many books were on display. Being an avid book lover, I started browsing the books at the stall. As I was looking into the bookrack, I stumbled upon ‘The Alchemist’. Just out of an inspiration from within, I purchased the book. As soon as I reached home, I started reading it. The book was so interesting and mesmerizing that I almost glued to it and finished it one single sitting.
‘The Alchemist’ is a story of a young shepherd boy who pursued a long journey from Spain to Egypt to fulfill his destiny. The story is all about his journey, his dilemma of choosing his comfortable life or to pursue his uncertain dreams and finally his conquest of his doubts and fear. During this journey, he embarked upon chance meetings with some wise people and his own and finally with an Alchemist who plays an extremely important role in realizing his dreams.
If there is one thing this small yet almost magical book teach you is that we all should follow our dreams because we all have come into this world to fulfill our destiny. It should be our prime duty to do all that we can to fulfill our dreams and meet our destiny. No matter how difficult and impossible the circumstances appears, we should never lose heart and my must keep trying to attain our goals. God always presents us with some signs and indications to help us proceed on our path. We only need to be aware of recognizing these signs and taking clues from them for reaching our goals. The book also contains one of the most beautiful and inspirational quotes on how universe help us in fulfilling our dreams:
“when you really want something to happen, the whole universe conspires so that your wish comes true”.
I strongly recommend you to read this wonderful book at least once. If you are facing uncertainties in life and think that you need some kind of direction for your future, then I suggest you to read this great book of wisdom. Who knows you may find answers to your questions in this book.
