The seed mantra “Om” which is pronounced Aum is a very sacred sound for all Hindus.<\/p>\n
It is a name for God. It is the vibration that resulted in all creation.<\/p>\n
The word “Shanthi” means peace. When Hindus chant Om Shanthi, Shanthi Shanthihi, they are praying for peace for all humanity.<\/p>\n
I would like to organize an event called Om Around the World, starting at 6:00 a.m. on Friday, November 1, 2013 and ending at midnight on November 3, 2013.<\/p>\n
Starting on Friday, November 1, 2013, I would like people all over the world to chant the mantra “Om Shanthi, Shanthi, Shanthihi.” I understand that not all people around the will be able to chant the mantra.<\/p>\n
However, I would like at least a few individuals or small groups of people from each country around the world to chant the peace mantra “Om Shanthi, Shanthi, Shanthihi” for at least a minute.
\nPlease upload your chants online with the title “Om Around the World”\u00a0 and include the name of your country after the title.<\/p>\n
Let us pray and hope that this chanting of “Om Shanthi, Shanthi, Shanthihi” around the world will help create peace around the world.<\/p>\n
