Its Always Divine
So I met a friend recently and we went to see the movie Garden State, which I had been anxious to see since its release. Written and directed by a young (29-year-old) New Jersey native, I had read that it was about "coming home" to New Jersey. Having just returned from a 2-1/2 half week visit to my "native home" of New Jersey, the desire to see this movie and have this experience, went much deeper than any conscious intention could have been. The movie turned out to be fabulous, extremely poignant and moving. Somewhat reminiscent of Good Will Hunting, not only in terms of it being a "coming of age" genre, but also having been written by "youngsters." (It is mind-boggling to me at my age and stage in life, that someone so young, in their 20's for God's sake, could have such insight--much more than a lot of people I know, two or three times their age.) After the movie, my friend and I walked around the mall a bit, trying to decide where we wanted to eat. The mall noise was ear-shattering, so we decided to go to Wolfie's for some Jewish deli. We hadn't been seated for more than two or three minutes, when I looked to my right and saw a couple being seated. I glanced at the woman's T-shirt which had the name Ridgewood imprinted on it. Almost without thinking, I turned to her and said "that's not Ridgewood, New Jersey is it?" To which she replied, "Yes, it is." I jumped up and immediately walked over to their table. Now here is where it gets, I don't want to say weird, but I guess I'll let you decide what you think. Within 60 seconds of conversation, it turns out that not only is this couple from Ridgewood, New Jersey, (the town next to my home town of Fair Lawn and my high school's arch rival), but the woman (whose name also happens to be Susan) goes on to say that she works in Fair Lawn. And not only that, she works at the Fair Lawn Public Library. And not only that, she is a Children's Librarian! Now, what are the odds of that? A Children's Librarian from my hometown library and here I am the author of a brand-new children's book looking for ways to promote myself, especially "back home." And what's more, my brother had already tried to make an inroad at the Fair Lawn Public Library and hadn't been successful. Within five minutes, Susan and I had become instant friends. Unfortunately, I had neglected to bring my tote bag with my books along with me, but I did have postcards and business cards which of course I gave to her. The bottom line here, (which I can now see more clearly than ever before) is that just like Julia Cameron, (author of The Artist's Way and my creative mentor) says over and over again, when you are in the flow, doors open magically and things just seem to happen -- all in their own Divine Right Order. (Oh, one last point, Susan has The Artist's Way sitting on her shelf--and has yet had the time to read it!!) In this insane and chaotic world in which we live--a world in which everyone thinks they must do, do, do -- sometimes the best thing to do is just to relax and un-do. What I mean here, is to step out of our minds and into our hearts, connecting by whatever means we can to the Divine Creative Flow and then just waiting and watching to see what happens! It sure seems to be working for me -- at long last! SUSAN SCHANERMAN, M. Ed., is a multi-talented author, artist, speaker, consultant and creativity coach. Memories Didnt Happen Have you ever experienced a traumatic event? I'm sure the answer to that question is an unequivocal yes as it appears to be embedded in the nature of the reality that we exist in.So having said that, if I ask you to focus on a particular memory of a traumatic event that you may have experienced, I think you will, without a doubt say that "it happened". True Justice and Freedom The world's idea of justice and freedom fall short of their purpose. Prison bars keep the guilty from repeating their crime while behind them. Drop the Negations What really binds us to any negative emotional state in which we find ourselves suffering is this: choice.Freedom from negative behavior and thoughts must begin with your recognition that you are voluntarily serving that which puts your own emotional and spiritual peace at risk. Spiritual Sanity Prior to the September 11th terrorist attacks on the United States and its people of freedom, this article was written in as an outcome of some research that I completed regarding the history of world religions and the fervor of religious dogma that continues to be the mark of "man's inhumanity to man."After reading it again four years later, the words held a greater impact that seems to threaten the heart of every human soul and that touches the lives of all cultures, all religions and spiritual practices as well as the very souls of all humanity. Self-Realization How It Can be Achieved Within Ones Life Time Before we dwell on the subject of Self Realization we need to understand the real meaning of gaining self realization.Nowadays so many self realization centres all over the world like self realization fellowship in Seattle, self-realization Boston, Atlanta self-realization and Mt. The Cuddlies I finally went to the dentist today. I had been putting it off for a long time. Everything is Happening for the Good When we feel that something has gone wrong and are very much disappointed then people will console us saying "Probably, there is some good in whatever is happening to you". Here I would like to comment on this saying. Pray Off Your Debts - in 10 Days or Less It will all be clear in a minute, but first I have to ask you.. Is It Real? If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. --2 CORINTHIANS 5:17, KJVIt may have happened to you at a Billy Graham Crusade. Anam Cara - Watching The River Flow I love rivers. I have for many years lived away from rivers. Spiritual Marketing Let me say that marketing can be a corrupting experience. In the wrong hands, marketing can create more frustration, more dishonesty and more greed than any occupation. The Mirror of Truth James 1:23-24Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like?Standing, gazing aheadAn image of Truth has been placed before meThere, a reflection of myself. So vivid, and so clearEvery detail has been meticulously capturedIt sickens me to think it must be me. Getting the Feel of Your Faith Whether we admit it or not, we operate by emotion. Our comfort level, attitude, and efficience are largely determined by how we feel. Go Forward! There is no incident in the life of Moses which I consider more epochal than this one; the encounter with the Red Sea. Here was a man who was faced with a great dilemma. Connect with Spirit Spirit - All Around Us, All of Us, Every One of UsANY time we connect with something or someone, we're also connected with Spirit (also known as God, the Universe, Higher Power, the Source). While our personal definition of Spirit is unique, when we connect with that Spirit it immediately connects us with something outside of ourselves. Starved Spirits, Sorrowful Souls Give us today our daily bread. Matthew 6:11 (NIV) We can be intelligent, healthy, rich, and religious and it would be meaningless without bread. Pioneering Insanity "They're crazy!" That's what they're saying about us. The majority of the people in America at this time in history do not channel spirits, do not converse with angels or aliens, do not astral project, do not know about any kind of higher vibration, and do not talk about Starseeds, Indigo Children, nor Lightworkers. An Alternative to A Life of Healing While I do hope to avoid arguing the merits or validity of seeing ourselves as primarily and essentially wounded and on a lifelong quest for wholeness via healing, I would like to offer another perspective on wholeness that may disagree with and/or upset some. This perspective is pointed at by the Mystical Traditions of the East and West, and one in which we begin with the understanding of our innate and eternal perfection. My Search for the Truth I am a Falun Dafa practitioner. Maybe you've heard about the persecution of Falun Dafa (or Falun Gong) practitioners in China.
