Building the Bridge of LOVE - Dont You Think Its time?
One of the saddest times in any child's life iswhen for some reason they think one or both ortheir parents are going to be taken from them. Inthe mid-nineties on one of their tours Naomi Juddannounced to the world that she had hepatitis andwould retire from the country music business.Leaving her daughter Wynonna to sing on her own forthe first time in her life. I'm sure Wynonna could have easily packed her bagsand headed back to some small town in Kentucky whereshe came from, however she didn't. While difficultas it may have been Wynonna, through some of thetoughest times in her life, picked up the pieces ofher life and continued what her mother and her hadstarted many years before. In some ways this mayremind us of how eagles push their young out ofthe nest teaching them to fly. Just like the mother eagle pushes her young out of the nest, don't you think Jesusdoes the same thing to us? He pushes us out of ournest to see if we will have faith to fly. Ournatural reaction is to just hide under some wingof protection of ours that we made up in our mindsin hopes that life doesn't send us downward intosomething that we can't handle or pushes us out ofour little comfort zones. Only to cry for ourmother to save us. So we crawl back into ournests and say, that God doesn't care or life isnot fair. Just the opposite of what Jesus reallywants us to do. Most of the time when we feellike this is because we are just being selfish andonly thinking of ourselves and the devil hastricked us into thinking we are not worthy enoughfor God's grace. You see, the mother eagle didn'tpush her young out because she doesn't care forthem, she does it because she loved them. NaomiJudd didn't wish this upon herself, yet she usedit to help others around her to grow and fly. Shealso did it out of love. In the midst of Wynonna's darkest moment instead ofcrawling into her shell and hiding under hermothers wings of protection she wrote this song.Or maybe in your darkest moment instead ofthinking of yourself, think of Jesus writing thissong for you.
