Om Shanti Shanti : The world peace request of a reader

Without my explaining anything please read this which is self-explanatory. A readers request I got from email :

The seed mantra “Om” which is pronounced Aum is a very sacred sound for all Hindus.

It is a name for God. It is the vibration that resulted in all creation.

The word “Shanthi” means peace. When Hindus chant Om Shanthi, Shanthi Shanthihi, they are praying for peace for all humanity.

I would like to organize an event called Om Around the World, starting at 6:00 a.m. on Friday, November 1, 2013 and ending at midnight on November 3, 2013.

Starting on Friday, November 1, 2013, I would like people all over the world to chant the mantra “Om Shanthi, Shanthi, Shanthihi.” I understand that not all people around the will be able to chant the mantra.

However, I would like at least a few individuals or small groups of people from each country around the world to chant the peace mantra “Om Shanthi, Shanthi, Shanthihi” for at least a minute.
Please upload your chants online with the title “Om Around the World”  and include the name of your country after the title.

Let us pray and hope that this chanting of “Om Shanthi, Shanthi, Shanthihi” around the world will help create peace around the world.

Will you be able to help me make this event a reality by announcing it free of charge in your blog?

So here I am.  Starting at 6:00 a.m. on Friday, November 1, 2013 and ending at midnight on November 3, 2013, the world will be celebrating “Om Around the World”.  No matter in which part of the world you live, try to participate in it by chanting Om Shanti Mantra.

Here is a simple recitation of this Mantra from Youtube

Howdy friends ! It’s William – the new contributor here

Hello friends,

I am William Parker, the new contributor on Meditationiseasy.com. Owing to his extremely busy schedule,  Eklavya- the main contributor here, has assigned the task of managing  and updating this blog on regular basis to me.

Eklavya is not going anywhere. It’s only that he will be posting not so frequently here.  Being such a popular website on meditation, he is really concerned that this website should not stop producing informative, useful and helpful content on meditation. That’s why he has requested me to take the baton for the time being.

As for me, I am a regular 30 something guy with varied interest which includes Meditation, yoga, software, chess, office productivity, books, movies and whatnot 🙂

I hope my present tenure as  main contributor of this blog will be appreciated by readers.

Regards

My 100th post and a new begining : Meditation Questions

Hi all,

While I was checking the admin panel of this blog today, I came to realize that up to now, I have posted 99 posts for this blog. Given the time period of 5 years since this blog was started, it is a very very delayed achievement in my humble opinion.

I should have written more and more about meditation. The reasons why I could not do so are immaterial at this time.

Right now, this is the 100th post of this blog you are reading.

As many things in my life have streamlined and more or less settled, I  hope to find quality time for this blog from now onwards.

Thus I am introducing a new category for this blog : Meditation Questions.

In this particular category, I will be answering various questions on meditation asked by my friends, colleagues and online visitors like you.

There is a famous saying : To teach one is to learn twice.

I sincerely believe that while answering various questions on meditation, I’ll be able to refresh (& enhance) my own knowledge of this subject.

So what are you waiting for ? Go ahead and ask your questions about meditation by posting a comment.

You can also send your questions at Eklavya (at) Meditationiseasy (dot) com.

Even if you don’t have any questions to ask on meditation, keep an eye on this blog. I’ll be posting answers to many important questions on meditation.

May god bless you.

Regards

Eklavya

Meditation Quotes Widget is Now Back….just like me

It’s been a very very long time since I write something on this blog. Owing to some personal occupation, I was not getting time to write new posts, which in my opinion, I must write to maintain the interest of regular readers of this blog.

After a long hiatus, I am back.

The first thing to do was to repair the Osho Meditation Quote Widget (a Google Gadget) which was not working properly. Owing to some technical changes by Google, the basic code of this widget became useless. As a result, it went into a perpetual troubleshooting mode.

In order to repair this Widget, I had to rewrite its entire code. Thankfully, two days of intensive R&D helped me repair this widget and make it fully functional again.

You can see in the right sidebar : the beautiful and soul touching quotes of Osho have come back.

All of you, who don’t know about this Widget, are requested to kindly read this earlier posts about this widget :

Start your day with a meditation quote from Osho : New Google Widget launched.

Apart from this, I am also announcing my return to this blog. In the days to come, I shall be writing many helpful posts on meditation.

Regards,

Eklavya
